The gas lift is the core component of a chair and one of the most important components for safety

There are two to four levels of pressure rods commonly used in the market, with level four being the highest

Level 2 gas lift is often used in bar chairs and other high chairs, and level 3-4 gas lift is mostly used in office chairs and ergonomic chairs

Domestic gas lift brands are Anhui Wright, Anderford, Changzhou Juwei, Angisnol and so on

Imported gas lift brands include Korea KGS and Korea Sanhong.

 

A gas lift boom? It doesn't exist!

How a gas lift works

The seat is raised and lowered through the cylinder and cylinder movement inside the gas lift. Open the valve, the cylinder and cylinder link, release the pressure, so that the cylinder can be adjusted up and down. When the valve is closed, the cylinder gas is locked due to the air pressure. Generally speaking, the piston rod in the cylinder moves up and down to control the lifting of the swivel chair by adjusting the air pressure.

 

Three problems that cause pressure rods to break

1. The gas lift is filled with inert gas. If the gas is not pure enough or mixed with other substances, it may explode in a high temperature environment. Generally speaking, nitrogen can be safe when the purity reaches more than 90%.

2. The material work and quality of the gas lift itself, the gas lift tube wall is too thin for a long time to produce aging, and may also cause explosion.

3, the sealing seal is not solid, resulting in gas leakage, although it will not cause explosion, but it will make the activity function failure.

 

Gas lift brand and certification level

Good gas lift brands are from Korea KGS, three Hong, domestic Anhui light, Under Fu, Xiexiqiang, Changzhou Juwei, Angisnorr and other brands, good gas lift price is more than ten times higher than the ordinary gas lift is normal, and must pass the relevant quality testing, with SGS/BIFMA/TUV certification, shell has certification steel mark.

Pressure rods are divided into four grades. First and second grade or even those without grades are not to be bought. They are not safe. At present, all the gas rods that meet the standards are third-grade or fourth-grade gas rods, which are generally marked as class 3 or class 4. The difference between fourth-grade gas rods and third-grade gas rods lies in that the fourth-grade gas rods have been heat-treated and have a higher safety index.

But when using, we should also pay attention not to frequently adjust or rotate the chair, to avoid overheating of the gas lift wall body, causing safety risks.

 

Explosion-proof steel plate

The national standard stipulates that qualified office swivel chairs need to add a piece of explosion-proof steel plate with a thickness of no less than 2mm to the connecting part of the chair surface and the air bar. In case of explosion, it can prevent the air bar from penetrating the chair surface, which can play a good isolation role, so as to reduce the harm to the human body as much as possible.

On April 18, 2023, the Supply chain Management Department of the Group invited the supplier to train the core part of the swivel chair -- the gas lift, in order to strengthen the cooperative relationship and improve the product quality. The training members include supply chain management department of the group, purchasing colleagues of the business department, quality management department of the Group and quality personnel of the business department. The professional technical team of Xiedang presided over the training. The general manager of Xiedang Wang introduced the manufacturing process, quality standard and other important production process of the gas rod in detail, and explained the anatomical diagram of the gas rod.
Through this training, trainee staff learned the best production practices and how to work with partners to ensure the quality of materials and delivery time.
